Ride 'Em Cowboy!

Callie was a little nervous, but tried to be very brave!

I love this picture of Samantha--she looks like a real cowgirl, pigtails and all!

Callie enjoying the train ride.
And yes, I realize how much she looks like her mother!

"Here! Just take the dang food, but DON'T TOUCH ME!"

We ALL enjoyed ourselves on the ropeswing.

Cooling Off

On Thursday, we met up with Terri, Samantha and Cole at Creekside Pool. It is the newest pool in The Woodlands , and it was really cool. It had a massive play area for kids , a lazy river, and a bigger waterslide for older kids. We stayed all day and the kids had a blast.

The kids loved the huge bucket of water that would tip onto the crowd---here's all the kids getting drenched.
On Saturday, we drove to Katy to visit with the Goodnights and Abneys. We spent the day at the Abneys swimming and the guys boiled crawfish----so yummy!

Visiting Family

Last week, the kids went to LA to stay with their cousins and Nana while Chad had his knee surgery. They had fun swimming, going to movies, eating pizza and hanging out. Thank you so much, Nana and Nannie for taking the kids. I'm sure it was hectic, but I know they made some great memories!

Mace and Jake were so glad to see Nate and had a blast playing Guitar Hero. Nannie even spiked their hair so they could be 'real rockstars'.

Emma even 'jammed' with the guys for awhile.

Callie's FAVORITE part of the entire vacation were some cats her Nannie has taken in. She was completely obsessed with them the entire time and STILL talks about them EVERY DAY!!

Once the kids were home, they were 'feeling' Daddy's pain.
On Monday, MeMe, Uncle Shane and Chase stopped for a visit. They were returning from a vacation in Dallas so they decided to stay a night with us.
Little Chase was in such a great mood!

Here's MeMe trying out Jake's ripstick.
Jake yelled, "Let Go! You're going to kill us both!"

Uncle Shane playing ball with the kids at the in-line hockey ring. We're so glad we could visit with the McCarthys--maybe next time they can stay longer!

Fourth of July Weekend

The families in the cul-de-sac got together to celebrate The Fourth. Our neighbors, The Burgesses, hosted the BBQ and fireworks display.

Our great neighbors, Stephanie and Steve David and Becky and Trevor Rooker. All of our new neighbors have helped make our move to Texas enjoyable. I am so thankful to have made good friends.
Callie covering her ears--she never has liked fireworks. We finally convinced her to sit outside for a little while to watch the display.
Trevor and Chad--we're hoping all goes well with Trevor's new position so the Rookers can stay in Texas a few years longer.
Some of my Bunco Buddies---Melissa (in the middle) hosted the night.

Hanging out with the Rookers. Good wine and 80's music ----always a good time!

Chad and I are looking forward to a week alone. On Saturday, we met Nanna and Candy in Jennings, LA. Chad is having orthopedic surgery on his knee on Thursday, so they offered to watch the kids for us. We can't wait to have some quiet time.

On Sunday, we met Brandon and Terri to play golf. Terri and I were the 'cart girls' while the guys played. It was extremely HOT, but so nice to get a day out. I still don't understand WHY IN THE WORLD men play this sport. . .all they do is curse and get aggravated. I had no idea a little white ball had so much POWER!!

Welcome Home, Uncle Tory!

On Saturday, June 28th, my brother-in-law Tory spent his last full day at TIRR Rehabilitation Center. It has been five weeks since he broke his neck. Tory has now been released from in-patient therapy and will begin out-patient therapy in two weeks. And the best news of all was Tory WALKED OUT OF THE REHAB CENTER!

Jalyn made this banner for her Daddy.

On Sunday, we continued celebrating the great news. Tory, Julie and the girls then left Monday evening for Many, LA, to visit Tory's family for a couple of weeks. After visiting family, the Gandys will return to our home in order for Tory to begin physical therapy.

Mammy and PawPaw came to help us with the kids. Thanks so much, Mom and Dad--we are so thankful for your help (especially Dad's purchases at the liquor store!)

This whole experience has been something beyond words. I am amazed at how many people have been touched by Tory's story---God has truly shown His mercy and compassion. Thanks to all family and friends who have been so supportive through this---you have touched our hearts.

As for my gang, we will be 'laying low' for a couple of weeks. It seems as if the whole month of June has been a complete blur, and we all need some rest.

Please continue to pray for Julie and Tory, and tell others of the great work that God has done in their lives. We will keep you updated on Tory's progress.
