Last Weeks of School

These last few weeks of school have been insane. We have had non-stop activities. It's been a lot of fun, but I'm ready to wrap up another school year.

About two
weeks ago, we took our students on a field trip to Ball Recycling Center in Conroe, Texas. The kids learned about the different aspects of recycling and how it helps our environment. It was pretty interesting--the bus ride WAS NOT!!

Also that week, Mace was co-host of the school's announcements. I tried to get a picture of him from the TV in my classroom.

The next day was Jake's turn.

Then two days later, our school had a Lock-In. I helped chaperone the event since Mason is in Cobra Council and had to be there all night anyway. Here I am with some kids from my classes. I did sing Kaoroke with them later.

A quick picture with my boys at the Lock-In before they took off.
It has been so nice to be at the same school as my boys.
I really have enjoyed this year with them.

Then this past week, our hallway entered a "Time Warp." We presented history lessons on the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. It was so much fun; the kids dressed up in their favorite decade, too.
Here's my teaching team from the 50s to the 80s.
On Friday, Jake received the Colossal Cobra Award. It is given to students of good character. (Mace isn't qualified to get it since he is a Cobra Council member.)
Then on Saturday, we took the Raffle Winners from our school's carnival to a matinee--we went to see the second Night at the Museum.
So, I'm hanging in there. One more week of school to go!
Summer is almost here and I am looking forward to lazy days!!

(Actually 'Summer Jamie' made an appearance last Saturday night and judging from Terri's pics--good times are coming!!)

Memorial Weekend

This past Memorial Weekend Chad took the kids to the Abneys in Katy for swimming and crawfish. I met up with the gals for Becky's Baby Shower then drove to Katy to meet up with everyone else.

Callie Jumping In!
Look at Ashleigh's Abs of Steel in the background--WOW!!

Jake's Jackknife

Finally I could spend time with Brayden. I haven't seen him in awhile, so it was great to hang out. He is a very happy little baby so it was easy to love on him--I mean, look at those cheeks!
And this time he didn't POOP on me.Kristin caught my three in a sweet moment . . .awww
While we were in Katy we were able to visit with Mrs. Gloria and Mr. Donnie, Craig's parents. We send all of our love and prayers to Mrs. Gloria--get well soon.

A Video For Jalyn

On Saturday night, the boys slept at a friend's house. Then Chad left with the guys to take Trevor out for his own "Baby Shower." I stayed home with Callie. The end of the school year is nuts, and I had a lot of grading to get done. Callie was very bored which means she was EXTREMELY ANNOYING! She finally decided to take the FLIP camera and make a video for her cousin Jay.

Mother's Day 2009

Yesterday we spent Mother's day here in Texas. Mother's Day can be tough for me--because I know that I am missing out on a special day with my mom and sisters. I hate when they do stuff without me.
Anyway, I didn't let it get me down for too long-- I had an amazing day with my crew. First Chad and the kids started my day with a wonderful breakfast in bed. Then we dressed to go to Lake Conroe to meet the Foster Crews for a day on the lake.
In this picture you can see all my beautiful tulips--last week was Teacher Appreciation Week, and my students spoiled me. Then I came home and Chad and the kids bought me tulips, too. I still have some in my classroom--it's pretty amazing!

After lunch at Sam's Boat on the water, we loaded up the kids on Brad and Bethany's pontoon boat.
NOTE TO SELF: Even though I live in Texas, I absolutely CANNOT pull off a cowboy hat! I look like an idiot--I'm just going to stick to the baseball caps and visors! Sorry, Steph--I tried, but it's NOT happening!!
Brandon, Terri, Samantha and Cole Man!!

'Captain' Brad, Bethany, Maggie, and Harrison--thanks so much for a wonderful day.
Next time let's go without the Ole Miss flag!!
The girls
The boys were the first ones to tube behind the boat--they had a blast. And if you can believe it, Jake wanted to slow down and Mace wanted to go faster--very unusual!!
After all the kids had a turn--it was the big kid's turn. Chad's face in this one cracks me up!Brad tried to throw Chad off the tube several times--I captured video of his ride. I ended up turning the camera off because I didn't think he'd ever fall--then something told me to turn it back on. . . .

New Chef of The Woodlands

Well, I guess Chad is a 'hit' in The Woodlands. He's had a few busy weekends. About two weekends ago, Trevor and Becky held a crawfish boil to thank everyone who helped them survive their first hurricane. They are now settled in their house enjoying the quiet before baby comes. Chad was asked to boil the bugs for the crowd to enjoy: Becky bought Hurricane mix, too. We really figured everyone would try a crawfish just to say they did and then move on to the burgers. Well two boils later, there wasn't a single crawfish left. I couldn't believe how much everyone enjoyed them. Not many sucked the heads, but I did have to laugh at one guy who tried. He said it was OK--but didn't really like having the EYEBALLS in his mouth--he sucked the wrong end!!

Chad's new buddy--Scott. He's an Auburn Alum. Chad was so happy to have someone who shared a devotion to the SEC. Between those two and Brandon--they completely ragged all Aggie and Longhorn fans the entire day. They were also the three who did the most damage to the KEG!!!

Callie and her 'wannabe' parents, Becky and Trevor.

Some of the guys who helped rebuild the house.

Then this last weekend, Brandon's Dad and Step Mom came into town. Chad was again asked to 'cater' the event--this time he boiled shrimp. And again, there were not many leftovers at all. Here he is relaxing with his boys---good job, Bay--the food was delicious.

Mace, Maggie, Jake and Samantha patiently waiting for dinner. Look how cute Sam is hanging on Jakey---what a sweetie.

Jake getting a moment of peace.
