Easter Weekend

We had a very nice Easter weekend at the house. It started on Good Friday. Chad and Tory went four wheeling and Julie, the girls and Lindsey came over to grill shishkabobs (spell?). After the guys returned, digustingly muddy, the adults enjoyed a HILARIOUS game of Guesstures. But, on Saturday, the dreaded stomach virus hit our house. Chad and Mace started running fever and experienced all the 'joys' of a stomach flu. So on Sunday, Jake, Callie and I headed to Nana's for crawfish and an Easter Egg Hunt. We had a nice day, but really missed Chad and Mace. Then Monday morning, not that I was surprised, Jake started running fever. It's not exactly how I want to spend my Spring Break, but hopefully my crew will be feeling better soon.

Boys Will Be Boys

Well, I don't know if Mace felt left out or WHAT--but I received a call from Mason's school today. They told me that Mace fell off the monkey bars at recess and looked like he might need stitches. Chad and Candy took Mace to Urgent Care (thank you so much NANNIE) and he did need stitches! Mace took it like a champ! (Honestly, we were a little nervous about how the Little Perilloux was going to do!) But Mace is handling all the fuss quite well and is very excited to show his friends at school his four stitches! I mean I know they are twins, BUT DO THEY HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING THE SAME?!

Boys' Ninth Birthday Party

On Saturday, we celebrated Mace and Jake's ninth birthday. They each had a friend from school sleep over Friday night so they could stay for the party. We rented a huge waterslide for the kids and of course- it rained on and off for most of the day! The kids had a blast (and some of the adults did, too!)--it ended up being a great day for the boys.

PLAY BALL!

I can't believe it---the boys FINALLY won a game! Mace and Jake had their first baseball game on Saturday and they won 6-5! Nana, BooBoo and the girls came to see the game and after an hour and half late start. . . their team, the Mariners, were the victors! Chad is the assistant coach and is really enjoying playing ball with his boys again. I did take a few pics of some sites I saw at the Mississippi ballpark (The 'camo' chair seem to be a favorite and the coach on the other team was a cop still on duty. And yes, he still had his gun in the holster!)

Happy Birthday To You!

Today is Mace and Jake's 9th birthday--I can't believe it--they are getting so big! We started out our day as usual heading off to school. The boys are lucky enough to have to take their first standardized test this week. After a day of testing, we left school and went to McDonald's for dinner where the boys proudly showed their Dad their third quarter report cards---STRAIGHT A'S! We are so proud! But we couldn't hang out for too long because they had baseball practice. By the time they got home it was almost 8:00 so we sang "Happy Birthday", opened presents, then shipped them off to the shower to get ready for bed. It was a normally hectic day, so tomorrow we are taking them out to eat their special birthday dinner. They agreed on the place---Chuck E. Cheese! I love you, my boys. Happy Birthday!

Spring Forward!

Due to the beautiful weather, we went to the store and bought the kids an inflatable 12 x 3 pool with a pump. We thought it would give them something to do. Well you know what they say about the best laid plans. . . .well apparently our backyard isn't the best laid, either. The entire yard is on a slope! Every time we would go to fill the pool, only one side would get water; then, it would overflow on that side and drain down our yard. The adults thought it was pretty funny, but the kids were mad. They are also pretty STUBBORN, too; they just sat on the ladder in a deflated pool splashing around in the puddles! I think they had fun anyway!

Pony Rides

Happy Birthday!

On Saturday, March 3rd, we celebrated Callie's 4th Birthday and Paw Paw's 54th Birthday. Chad grilled ribs and rented a pony for the day. We were surprised when our friends, the Goodnights, showed up at the party! They were in town from Houston and surprised us--it was a nice treat! We had a sleepover, too! Callie, Jalyn, and Megan had a slumber party. Mace and Jake tolerated them quite well. Happy Birthday, Callie-Girl! Happy Birthday Paw Paw!

The party will be at our house and all of our family and friends are invited!
Hope to see you there!

Mardi Gras Holidays

We started our Mardi Gras holidays by going to the Selene parade with some friends Friday night. On Saturday, Mace and Jake had baseball tryouts. Well, we had a little mishap when Jake missed a ball and got hit in the eye. We brought him to urgent care where he received FIVE stitches! Jake was VERY brave. We spent Fat Tuesday at Mammy and Paw Paw's and boiled crawfish. On Wednesday, we took Jake back to the doctor to get the stitches removed. The doctor said he should heal nicely and may have a little scar--but the good thing is that the scar is under his eyebrow. Jake is actually pretty proud of his scar and can't wait to go back to school to show his friends!

Valentines 2007

My Valentine's Day started at school where I set up a "French Cafe." We just finished a unit on poetry so we had poetry readings, still life art, and food. It was pretty cool. Later at home, Chad and I began cooking the special dinner the kids wanted---french toast and bacon for the guys and omelets for Callie and me. We lit candles and had a nice romantic family dinner----if you're thinking it wasn't really a treat for me--IT WAS! I didn't have to cook for hours and it was easy to clean--NOW THAT'S A TREAT!

Superbowl 2007

To celebrate the Superbowl, we had a few people over to boil crawfish and watch the game. It was a gorgeous day and the crawfish were excellent. The guys had a good time playing horseshoes after their hard work!
