One Year in Texas
One year ago today, Chad and I loaded up the kids, left Louisiana, and headed for a new life in Texas. I can't believe it's been a year already. WOW--so much has happened. I thank God every day for allowing our family to have such a smooth transition. And although we miss our family terribly, things here in Texas haven't been so bad!

Time Flies
I received an email from my friend Christy; she reminded me that it was 8 years ago today that she and Wayne were married. My two little men were the most adorable ring bearers ever. I can't believe how fast time flies--my boys are growing up so quickly.

Happy Halloween
Here's a few pictures from our fun Halloween Night--we had a blast, as usual. The kids looked adorable and the adult costumes were hilarious! The Gandys, Fosters, Rookers and other neighbors came over to enjoy the Halloween fun. I have to borrow some pics from everyone else because my camera broke a few weeks ago.
It was so depressing---my boys are growing up so fast!

Fundraiser

Last weekend we went to NOLA for Tory's Fundraiser. We had an amazing turnout, and I would estimate that the fundraiser was a huge success. My sister, Michele, did an incredible job pulling it all together. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and it was extremely heartwarming to see friends and family come together to help the family--we were all touched.
Tory has come a long way, and his positive attitude contiues to blow me away. I am glad others were able to witness his progress, too.
Thanks so much to everyone for keeping our family in your prayers.

Conroe Catfish Festival
Chad and I had been waiting all week to take the kids to the Conroe Catfish Festival. We read up on the vendors and found out that many businesses from Louisiana would be there. We were so excited--we wanted REAL seafood! Well, upon arrival we went straight for a Baton Rouge vendor selling Shrimp Po-Boys----what a disappointment! The shrimp (all FIVE of them) had pretty good flavor, but it was served on a hot dog bun--and THAT wasn't even toasted!

Mace choose Black and Gold.

Fun-Filled Weekend
Mason and Jacob have been saving their money for a special toy. This weekend they finally had enough money saved , so we took them to the store. They both purchaed Air Soft rifles that shoot plastic pellets over 200 hundred feet.
As soon as we got home, the boys were ready to battle with their friend Adam. They played outside the entire day having a war with those guns--all three boys are covered with itty bitty red marks all over their bodies!
That evening, Becky and Trevor invited us over to watch a Nebraska game. We honored their request of wearing red (we felt it was OK since LSU had a bye.)---Jake refused to wear one of his brother's red shirts, so Trevor gave him one of his.

The next Day---The war continues. . .this time Daddy couldn't let the kids have all the fun.

Hurricane Ike
Well, we made it through Hurricane Ike. The kids and I went back to school today.
We were lucky enough to escape Hurricane Ike's winds; however, our friends Becky and Trevor were not so lucky. A large oak tree literally broke in half and crashed on--rather through---their house.
Here's Jake helping out---he 's sweeping out the flooded waters from the busted water pipe.
The tree went through the top floor and pushed down on the main floor destroying everything.
The master bathroom---this is all the soggy insulation.
The kids and I ended up flying to Louisiana to stay with Mom and Dad. Chad met us there later in the week. We spent my birthday watching the LSU game with Mom, Dad, and Mrs. Linda.

Labor Day Weekend
Last weekend ended up being so much fun--and BUSY!! We headed out Friday Night to Northsore Park with the kids. We picked up some Popeye's--we were ALL craving it ----and enjoyed being outside.

The next day was the Cul De Sac BBQ or the Cul-De-Que as I call it. We had a really nice turnout and the rain held off for us.

Here's some of the Cul De Sac kids---our kids have been so happy since we moved here; they love having so many people to play with.

First Day of School
Wow, what a week! Monday was the boys first day in 5th grade and Callie's first day of kindergarten. Chad was able to bring Callie for her first day while I headed to Collins with the boys for our first day. We were lucky enough to only have one mishap for the day---poor Mace forgot his lunch at home. (Thanks to BooBoo and Uncle Tory for saving us.)

Jay also started 2nd grade at Powell Elementary. The girls were so excited to be at the same school together. On Tuesday, Jay and Callie started riding the bus----they think it's so cool!!
My little girl--her bookbag is bigger than she is~~~ I'm proud of you, Lil' Bit.

Back to School
Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks for our gang. I have been trying to get my new classroom ready. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for taking the kids for a week. I couldn't have gotten all this done with the kiddos running around. Aslo, thank you to my hubby--you have been a great stay-at-home Dad!! Thank you for your help and for doing the laundry ALL WEEK---I'm impressed!!
Here's a few pictures of my classroom before and after.

We also had a few fun events going on these past weeks, too. We went to a BBQ hosted by my new school. It was on a farm and the boys had a good time riding horses.

I traveled to Katy for Kristin Abney's Baby Shower. They are expecting a baby boy in September. I'm hoping he'll come near my birthday--just NOT the night I celebrate it!!
Callie went to Powell Elementary to meet her Kindergarten teacher. She looked so tiny sitting in her desk with her big brown eyes. I am more upset about her starting kindergarten than I thought I would be. My baby is getting so big (well older). Here she is standing in front of her new school.
Becky, Terri, Ms. Barbara (aka MeeMaw) went to the Outlet Mall on 290 for some Back to School sales---it was so much fun. My dear friend Becky has 'Baby Fever' quite bad and is already scoping out possible diaper bags---sorry Trevor, I think you 'll be purchasing a Burberry Diaper Bag soon.
We also had time to catch a Dave Matthews Concert with Brandon'Yogi' , Terri and Brad "Man-pris"---the show put on by the Foster Brothers was WAY better than Dave :-)

So, as you can see, we've been busy. That probably explains why I slept for almost 14 hours on Saturday!! Oh, yes, it's back to school for me!!!!
